This screened porch faces west and captures the setting sun on a summer day.
After years of harsh Maine winters and summer sun, the cedar shingles on the west side of this home needed replacement. (See next photo for "after")
These Eastern White Cedar shingles are ready for many more years of weathering!
Western Red Cedar shingles are used for roofing because of their durability.
A lot of measuring and cutting is represented in the shingles on this cupola!
These front stairs were covered with dirt from years of use and falling leaves and needed a facelift. (See next photo for "after")
With the help of a power washer and a coat of paint on the risers, the stairs look fresh and updated.
The upstairs loft bedroom of this summer home had unused space under the dormer slope. (See next photo for "before")

The homeowner loved the idea of open shelving for sweaters and shoes and the well-lit area serves as both a closet and a dressing room.
